Joan Seitz Romero

Art, or you might remember him as Artie, and I will have been married for 45 years as of 8/1/09 (geez!) He is still practicing dentistry and I am working prn as a nursing supervisor at Forest Park Hospital. We do as much traveling as possible, which is pretty easy when you have kids spread out like we do. We also are babysitters supreme and keep involved in our small commmunity.

We get to the Bay Area about once a year to visit family, eat crab and drink wine. We keep in contact with Kathie Trouth Moul, Steve and Jane DeCoite, Jackie Menginni Pickard (best Christmas letter ever!) and Sue Simonich. Would love to see more of our former classmates!

Art played basketball and avoided class as often as possible. He went to USF for one year and then transferred to San Jose State. We married after he graduated (he says I proposed but there's a whole other side of that story) and he worked at the Lawrence Rad Lab for a couple of years before going to Georgetown Dental School. We wondered why our parents cried when we left for D.C. in a blue Corvair with a porta-crib in the back for Eric!

I was "Miss Goodie-Goodie" at O'Dowd and probably missed out on a lot of fun. I went to Providence College of Nursing after O'Dowd and have since obtained a dual Masters in Mgt. and HRD. While in D.C., I did clinical nursing at Georgetown. We were there during the civil rights uprisings and I remember crossing the bridge from Virginia to go to work with the national guard lining the bridgeway. Scarey times!
