Katherine "Kathie" Wehner '60 Naranjo passed away on Friday, October 28, 2021.  According to Kathy Connelly '60 Johnson, who talked with Kathie's daughter yesterday, Kathie had Alzheimer’s and was in a care home. She had a stroke and died a few days later.

Kathie was a very good friend of Mary Kennedy '60, who died in 2013.  Mary was the godmother of Kathie's daughter Christina. Kathie married Hernan Naranjo, who was born in Columbia. They frequently returned to visit that country, as the whole family was enriched by their relatives, culture, and language.  Kathie became fluent in Spanish.

Kathy Connelly advises there will be a  Mass from Saint Ediths in Livonia for Kathie will be streamlined at 7 am pacific time!!!!! Tuesday.  Try to access through the church, 15089 Newburgh Rd

Katherine Jane Naranjo

NOVEMBER 10, 1942 – OCTOBER 28, 2021

Katherine Jane Naranjo was born November 10, 1942, and peacefully passed away on October 28, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Hernan Naranjo. Loving mother of Gabriel (Audrey) Naranjo and Christina (Jeff) Randall. Cherished grandmother of Walter Randall and Allison Randall. Dear sister of Bill (Donna) Wehner and aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Katherine was a member of St. Edith Catholic Church in Livonia for 35 years. She retired from Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit, where she worked as a nurse for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with family at Kensington Metropark, sewing, gardening, and baking. She is famous for her "Grammie Cookies" which her family loved!

A memorial gathering will be held at St. Edith Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, from 10:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Katherine's honor.
