Constance "Connie" Tobin (Sturdy)

Constance Connie Tobin (Sturdy)

Bishop O'Dowd advised that Constance Jean "Connie" Tobin '60 Sturdy has passed away. Connie's daughter, Jenny Sturdy Wright, has provided the following obituary:

My mom had three children: James (deceased), Kimberly, and Jennifer; four grandchildren:         Ashley, Beau, Hayden, and Riley; and three great-grandchildren: Harlow, Rhett, and Quinn.

She and my dad, Jerry, (married in 1965) moved from Concord to Lincoln to have property           (currently on about 10 acres) in 1975 and have been there ever since.  She worked as a             transcriber from home when we were young and then worked as a clerk for Placer County           Courts until her retirement.

My mom loved to read books, play cards, and read the paper every day.  She also liked to           solve puzzles in the paper, like Jumble.  She volunteered with a local group that helped seniors     with their taxes by setting up their appointments with an accountant.  She liked keeping up on     Bishop O'Dowd by reading the publications.

She peacefully passed away at home on the morning of June 29th, 2022.  A service will be held    at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lincoln at 11 am on Friday, September 2nd, 2022, with a        reception to follow at McBean Pavilion ⏤ Jenny Wright

For the benefit of our '60 baseball fans, especially the guys who went to St. Cyril Schoool with Connie, her dad was Jim Tobin, a right-hander who pitched in the major leagues in the late 1930s until the mid-1940s and for our hometown Oakland Oaks until 1948.

May Connie rest in peace.

John '60
