Patricia Serpa

Pat died September 7, 2016.

Obituary was not available.. Thanks to Jackie Menghini Pickard '60 and Arlene Almada Lopes '60, who provided information.

Pat Serpa died from a heart attack.  Pat's sister sent word.  There was a private family Mass but no other services.

Pat lived mostly in Southern California, including Arcadia, for many years.  Pat is survived by a sister, cousins, nieces and nephews.  After 17 years in the Carmelite Monastery, she received permission to leave the Carmelites.

Pat worked at a park visitor's center in or near San Diego and was married for a time.

Pat became a middle school teacher of English grammar and literature. She also taught young people learning English as a second language (ESL).

Pat was great with languages. She traveled in Portugal, France, and, for researching a book she was writing, she traveled to Norway's Lofoten, Archipelago.  She hadn't finished the book when she passed away.

Pat was an avid reader; mysteries, history and research were favorites.

Pat was very intelligent, funny, and a great writer.  She did beautiful hand-work, namely embroidery and crochet.
