‘60 Classmates:

Sad to report that Rita McWalters ’60 Bradley has died.  From an obituary that appeared in the Mercury-News:

Rita Ann McWalters Bradley

Aug. 14, 1942 – Mar. 18, 2018

San Jose

Rita died suddenly to the regret of her family.  She was 75.

She was preceded in death by her parents Virginia (Neary) and Peter McWalters, her husband Ken Pitts and her sisters: Irene Frances (Silverthorn Stevens), Kathleen Lucille (Webb), and Margaret Mary (Greenwalt).  She leaves behind her brother David, many nieces and nephews, and a circle of close friends.

Rita attended St. Joseph Elementary School in Alameda; Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland; Holy Names University in Oakland; and the School of Nursing at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland.

She was a nurse for 50 years and remembered for her sense of humor and caring.  She requested no flowers but asked everyone to remember to tip their bartenders.

A memorial service, followed by a luncheon, is planned for 10am on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the American Legion Hall, 2120 Walsh Avenue, Santa Clara, CA 95050.
