Carole Cruz (Jobe)

Carole Cruz (Jobe)

Sad to report Carole Cruz ’60 Jobe passed away January 5, 2018.  Born in Oakland on October 18, 1942, Carole had suffered from a long battle with diabetes.  She lived in Hercules.  She is survived by her husband Tom and sons John and David.  After our 50th reunion in 2010, Carole updated her web Profile.  Please go to it for more details on Carole's activities, interests and family, particularly since she and Tom retired.

A funeral Mass was held January 17, 2018 at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Rodeo, preceded on January 16th with a viewing and Rosary at Saint Joseph Cemetery Chapel in San Pablo.

Active on campus as a student, Carole saved memorabilia from those days at O’Dowd which she happily shared in later years to enrich ’60 class reunions and other activities.  She was an original member of the current ’60 Class Reunion Committee.

A major Top 40 hit from 1959, “Sea Cruz,” her namesake recording by artist Frankie Ford, personified Carole’s joyful spirit.  Remembering Carole, that Top 40 classic closed with the words: So be my guest, you got nothin' to lose.  Won't ya let me take you on a sea cruise?

May Carole rest in peace.
